Making Space for Wellbeing

Our Wellbeing Centre isn’t just a place, it’s a practical hub. We’ve designed it with two tailored rooms where we provide solutions to those facing the challenges of cancer.

Empty wellbeing therapy room with a treatment bed, two chairs, a desk with a computer, and a window with blinds.

Gone are the days of one size fits all care. Our expert therapists offer a wide range of therapies, reflexololgy, aromatherapy, acupuncture, manual lymphatic drainage and scar tissue management. This is about real results and helping you to face each day with strength.

We are different to a spa or salon (who may offer similar services) because we are specialists in supporting people with cancer. Our highly qualified team has built up many years of experience working with a diverse range of cancer patients and have a wealth of knowledge, insight and understanding.

The Wellbeing Centre uniquely focuses on delivering complementary therapy services to cancer patients, within a similar timeframe as their chemotherapy/radiotherapy treatment. This provides support to many breast, gynaecological, haematological, prostate, kidney, bladder, colorectal, and lung cancer patients.

Each year the Ark Cancer Charity provides grants of up to £220k to fund this excellent wellbeing service with over 1600 patients using these services since opening.

Putting wellbeing at the heart of cancer treatment

The Centre continues to transform the experience of cancer patients at the Hospital and make a tangible difference to their wellbeing.

But we are only able to fund the centre and offer these therapies free of charge thanks to the generous donations we receive. We plan to introduce more therapies and treatments and to continue to build on what has become a vital resource to the Hospital, but we need your help to do this.
