Wellbeing Centre
Referral Process
This service is available to all oncology outpatients undergoing treatment at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust initially by referral from their Oncology team. Our service offers support to enhance cancer patient’s journey towards recovery.
The service which operates Monday to Friday is available from the charity-funded Wellbeing Centre situated near to the Greenham Oncology Centre and based on the hospital site. Each therapy is tailored to the patient’s individual needs to provide clinical benefit and support to aid recovery.
Referral Process
Being referred to the Wellbeing Service is a simple four step process.
Patients or their family member/carer should at first discuss these services with their Oncology team.
Following this discussion, a member of the Oncology team will refer the patient through the NHS referral process.
The Complementary Therapy team will then contact the patient to ensure they have been allocated the right treatment for their circumstances.
Patients will then receive an appointment letter from the hospital, within approximately two weeks, for their first session at the Wellbeing Centre.
Patients will be eligible for up to 6 sessions, and each session will last approximately 45 minutes.
The Ark Cancer Charity relies on the kind generosity of our local community to deliver these services.
