Greenham Oncology Centre officially opens!
Thanks to The Ark Cancer Charity and a grant from the Greenham Trust, £2 million has been invested into our formerly known Rainbow Unit to be redesigned and reopened as the Greenham Oncology Centre!
Opened in July, by the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, the centre focuses on delivering high quality, effective and compassionate care. The staff aim to meet the patients’ needs by providing holistic and personalised care and each year up to 100,000 treatments will take place within the centre.

80th Birthday Wing Walking Challenge

Health & Wellbeing Festival

Basingstoke and District Invitation Pool League
The Basingstoke and District Invitation Pool League recently held their Spring 2025 Presentation Evening, raising an incredible £1,066.30 for Ark Cancer Charity and Neuroblastoma UK through their raffle and auction.
Garden Room Refurbishment
A huge thank you to the Armstrong Family, Rosemary, Helen and Bruce for generously donating £20,000 for the refurbishment of the Garden Room, an additional wellbeing treatment room in the Ark Cancer Charity Wellbeing Centre.
Textile Bank Sites Wanted!

Lin Osborn Cycling Challenge
The fabulous Lin Osborn took part in her 80 4 80 challenge on Wednesday 4th June, riding 80 miles from Poole, Dorset to Old Basing, Hampshire on her 80th birthday to raise awareness and thank the Ark Cancer Charity for the services she received during her cancer treatment. Originally setting herself a fundraising target of £800, Lin smashed this raising nearly £4,000 for ACC, with donations still coming in.
Lin recently received treatment in the Wellbeing Centre following her cancer diagnosis last year and found the therapy and counselling during and after her cancer treatment enormously helpful during such an uncertain and difficult time. Revive + Thrive
Thank you to the organisers of the Revive + Thrive, Health, Fitness & Wellbeing Show, for choosing the Ark Cancer Charity as their nominated charity. We were delighted to attend the event and raise awareness of the services we provide to cancer patients receiving treatment at HHFT.
Basingstoke Health Library
The Team at the Basingstoke Healthcare Library, based at the Ark Conference Centre raised £262.79 from their sale of donated books throughout the year.
Tesco Customers Collection
Customers at Tesco, Chineham, generously donated to a bucket collection at the end of April in store, raising £385.91, which was fantastic.
Hampshire Achieves
Thank you to the young people from Hampshire Achieves for holding a fundraising book sale in Festival Place and raising over £135.
James Gardiner
Well done and thank you, to James Gardiner for completing a series of walking challenges over the past few months, including the Windsor Easter 50K and the 100K Isle of Wight Challenge as part of his ongoing commitment to fundraise for the Ark Cancer Charity. To date James has raised £3,362, with lots more events planned.
At the age of 44 years old it came as an enormous shock for James Gardiner to be diagnosed with Lymphoma Type 3a but with the help and care of everyone in the Greenham Oncology Centre James is now in remission.James is raising money in support of the Ark Cancer Charity who have provided funding initiatives for the Greenham Oncology Centre and wellbeing support in the Ark Cancer Charity Wellbeing Centre for cancer patients, by taking part in several fundraising initiatives.To hear James’ story and interview on That’s TV Hampshire, please visit the link below.That's TV Hampshire on X: ""I was in a lot of physical and mental pain." Romsey Relay Marathon
The Barkers, Minikins, and Macklens, all took part in the Romsey Relay Marathon on 18th May and raised £410, which has been added to the incredible £2,051 Sarah Barker raised by taking part in the Manchester Marathon at the end of April, thank you all so much.
Cake Sales
Thank you to all the staff at TRL in Crowthorne who held a series of cake sales and raised £120 for the Ark Cancer Charity.
Basingstoke Conservative Club
Members of the Basingstoke Conservative Club chose the Ark as their nominated Charity of the Year, for 2024/2025, raising an incredible £8,360.28 during this period.
Rotary Club of Basingstoke
Fundraising Manager, Helena Maskell was delighted to give a talk on behalf of the Ark Cancer Charity to the Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane at the beginning of April, to have the opportunity to thank their members for all their support over the years and update them on the work of the charity.
