Wreath-making workshops deliver festive boost for Ark

Donations from people attending festive wreath-making workshops have delivered a seasonal cash boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Basingstoke shopping centre Festival Place is generously hosting the two-day workshops by The Hampshire Flower Studio team on various dates from November 15 to December 14, and each of the sessions will raise awareness of, and funds for, local good causes as attendees will be able to make donations.

Ark Cancer Centre Charity was in the spotlight on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, and the workshops saw attendees donate £586.23.

Clare Bowman, from The Hampshire Flower Studio, said: "The free flower crafting workshops are well-supported, and they give people a chance to learn how to create something beautiful and to also support local charities.

"The workshops teach the traditional art of decorative wreath-making in a creative, relaxing and peaceful envirionment for adults."

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and commu8nications for Ark, said: "We are grateful to Clare and the team for choosing Ark as one of the charities that will benefit from the festive wreath-making workshops, and we appreciate the donations that were given by those who came along on November 22 and 23."
