'Tis the season to make your festive wreaths

'Tis the season to make your Christmas wreaths - and this year, you can create a fabulous festive feature and help Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Ark is grateful to The Hampshire Flower Studio for making Ark one of the charities that will benefit from this year's free Christmas wreath-making workshops.

Basingstoke shopping centre Festival Place is generously hosting the two-day workshops on various dates from November 15 to December 14, and each of the sessions will raise awareness of, and funds for, local good causes as attendees will be able to make donations.

Ark Cancer Centre Charity will be in the spotlight on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23.

Clare Bowman, from The Hampshire Flower Studio, said: "The free flower crafting workshops will give people a chance to learn how to create something beautiful and to also support local charities.

"The workshops will teach the traditional art of decorative wreath-making in a creative, relaxing and peaceful envirionment for adults.

"Bookings need to be made by visiting the Customer Lounge, which is next to Patisserie Valerie, and each workshop will last around two hours. Unfortunately, no bookings can be made by phone or email."

The workshops, which are for adults, will run from 10am to noon and from 1pm to 3pm on each of the Fridays and Saturdays that they take place.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: "Thank you to Clare and the team for choosing Ark as one of the charities that will benefit from the festive wreath-making workshops. We hope many Ark supporters will come along and get in the Christmas spirit as well as supporting the charity."
