Take Ark's #Free2DoGood 2020 Challenge

JOIN our 2020 Challenge, have fun and get fit – that’s the message of the latest phase of Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s #Free2DoGood campaign.

As we prepare to start another week of lockdown, we’ve come up with 20 challenges for children and 20 challenges for adults that will help to keep you active, entertained and occupied.

All our ideas are free to take part in – but if you want to do some fundraising, then that would be great, and you can raise money by setting up a fundraising page at https://www.justgiving.com/accc

Our suggested 2020 challenges for children are:

  • Walk 20 times around your garden (completed on just one day or over 20 days)
  • Run around your garden 20 times (completed on just one day or over 20 days)
  • Run/walk for a mile
  • Do something new – ballet/singing
  • Teddy bear picnic – invite 20 teddy bears
  • Wash your parents’ car/s
  • 20-minute sponsored silence (completed on just one day or 20mins on each of 20 days)
  • Obstacle race in the garden
  • Give up sweets for 20 days
  • Give up gaming tech for a day/week/20 days
  • Help around the house for 20 days
  • Spell-a-thon
  • Three legged race with either one of your parents or a sibling
  • Treasure hunt
  • Board game contest
  • Odd clothes day
  • 20 Football keepie Uppies
  • Throw a ball between two or more people 20 times
  • Eat 20 different vegetables over 20 days
  • Read 20 different books over 20 days

And our suggested 2020 challenges for adults are:

  • Walk 20 times around your garden every day for 20 days
  • Run around your garden 20 times every day for 20 days
  • Run for a mile a day for 20 days
  • Walk for a mile a day for 20 days
  • Do something new – ballet/singing
  • 20-minute sponsored silence every day for 20 days
  • Obstacle race in the garden
  • Give up alcohol for 20 days
  • Lose 20lbs
  • Juggling for 20 minutes
  • Board game contest
  • 20 step-ups, every day for 20 days
  • Sponsored shave
  • Get your spouse/children to cut your hair
  • 20 press ups every day for 20 days
  • 20 sit-ups every day for 20 days
  • Circuit of 20 exercises every day for 20 days
  • Cycle 20 miles on a static bike, every day for 20 days
  • Run 20 miles on a treadmill, every day for 20 days
  • Walk 20 miles on a treadmill, every day for 20 days

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “We are grateful to our wonderful supporters who are recycling clothes and shoes in Ark’s recycling banks, supporting Ark by shopping online, or are reselling unwanted books, CDs and games in support of our #Free2DoGood campaign.

“We hope that people of all ages will now support the campaign by taking part in the #Free2DoGood 2020 Challenge, and thanks to everyone who sets up a fundraising page or supports any of our 2020 Challenge fundraisers.
