The Topiary Salon

Art for Ark's sake is a big draw

TWO Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters teamed up for a great competition that resulted in an artistic treat for a lucky winner and two runners-up as well as a lockdown fundraising boost for the charity.

Laura Haystaff, owner of Ark Our Partner supporter The Topiary Salon, which has premises in Old Basing and Kingsclere Road, Basingstoke, and Basingstoke-based artist Sian Storey  organised the event which saw main winner Harry Coomber become the proud owner of Sian’s lovely painting ‘Kindred’.

The Topiary Salon 15th birthday celebration supports Ark

Happy birthday to Ark Our Partner supporter The Topiary Salon, which is celebrating 15 years of success.

Laura Haystaff and team are marking the milestone for the business, which now has salons in Old Basing and Houndmills, Basingstoke, with two special Ark fundraising days today and tomorrow that feature cake, bubbly and prizes. A well-supported raffle and prize draw are both helping to pull in the pounds for Ark.

Mark Jones, for Ark, popped in with cake and a card, and thanked Laura and her team for their support.

The Topiary Salon becomes Ark Our Partner supporter

Husband and wife Matt and Laura Haystaff were delighted to support Ark Cancer Centre Charity through the high-profile Sitting With Jane project – but their backing for the good cause has now taken on an even more personal significance.

Earlier this year, Matt was diagnosed with low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma, an incurable but treatable cancer. Thankfully, he is responding well to treatment – but the diagnosis came as a shock to the family, and it has made both Matt and Laura even more determined to help Ark’s campaign to raise £5million for the new NHS cancer treatment centre.
