JOIN our 2020 Challenge, have fun and get fit – that’s the message of the latest phase of Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s #Free2DoGood campaign.

As we prepare to start another week of lockdown, we’ve come up with 20 challenges for children and 20 challenges for adults that will help to keep you active, entertained and occupied.

#Free2DoGood - how you can help Ark

YOU can do good by fundraising for free – that’s the message of a new Ark Cancer Centre Charity campaign.

In these challenging times, Ark is grateful for the wonderful backing it is receiving from its supporters – and now we are hoping that current and new supporters will pitch in to support the charity by doing things that will cost nothing more than a little time and effort but will make a massive difference to the charity.

A Night of Swing & Strings concert - update

Unfortunately, A Night of Swing & Strings, starring Clive Fortune Big Band and Basingstoke Area Youth String Orchestra, has been postponed from the planned March 21 date.

Today, the organisers of the event said: “The health and safety of everyone is of paramount importance.

"Following the Government’s updated advice relating to the Coronavirus situation, we have decided to postpone the concert.

Valiant GP Roisin raises thousands for Ark on epic trek

The force of Mother Nature may have stopped valiant Hampshire GP Roisin Ward in her tracks – but she and her intrepid team succeeded in raising thousands of pounds for charity and made their mark in what is billed as the World’s toughest expedition race.

Philippa takes up key Lead Cancer Nurse role

Cancer patient care at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) has been given a significant boost by a key appointment.

Philippa Aslet has taken up the role of lead cancer nurse for the trust – and she is on a mission to improve the cancer journey for patients, their families, and staff across the trust, which runs hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover.

The announcement comes on World Cancer Day, and in the year that has been recognised as the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife by the World Health Organisation.
