'I’m A Celebrity' is well and truly in the public spotlight but Ark Cancer Centre Charity already has its own Queen of the Jungle.

Charity champion Jackie Wicks has returned home after conquering a jungle challenge – and she is delighted to have achieved her goal of raising a four-figure sum for Ark’s £5million appeal that will help to fund a new NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital.

Hampshire County Council gives £50K grant to Ark

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is another step closer to reaching its £5million target towards a new cancer treatment centre in Basingstoke - thanks to a £50,000 grant from Hampshire County Council

Speaking about the significant show of support, Councillor Roy Perry, Leader of Hampshire County Council, said: “Ark Cancer Centre Charity is raising funds to have this centre built so that patients and their families can receive the range of care and support they need under one roof, in a calm and peaceful environment.

Susie is on top of the world after Himalayan trek

Super Susie Webster has reached new heights for Ark Cancer Centre Charity after completing an awesome Himalayan trekking challenge.

Mother-of-three Susie was part of a 15-strong group who last month hiked through the Solu Khumba in Nepal, from Lukla to Renjo La Pass – walking between six and eight hours a day at altitude in testing conditions.

Choirs are on song for Ark

Two choirs teamed up for an Autumn Concert that raised £1,000 for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Basingstoke Male Voice Choir (BMVC) and Four Lanes Male Choir, from Cornwall, performed a range of songs at the concert which took place at the United Reformed Church, in London Street.

Around 100 people attended the concert, and the donation to Ark came from the proceeds of ticket sales.

BMVC are currently looking for new members. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings at the United Reformed Church. For more information, go to

Spooktacular Hallowe'en support for Ark

Thanks to our spooktacular supporters who put on a feast of Hallowe'en fundraising events to raise further funds for, and awareness of, Ark Cancer Centre Charity's £5million appeal to help fund a much-needed Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust cancer treatment centre.

Ark Our Partner business supporters Clarke & Son Solicitors and De La Rue, and Ark supporters in the Basingstoke police team and at the Arena building on Basing View all got into the fundraising spirit on the spookiest day of the year.

Super Susie reaches high point on Everest hike for Ark

She was determined to rise to a big personal challenge – and now super Susie Webster has reached a high point on her ambitious Everest hike.

Less than two years after undergoing treatment for breast cancer, 60-year-old Susie is taking part in a challenging fundraising hike to Everest because she wants to prove that there are no limits to what cancer survivors can do.

N-ice result for Ark at Bison and Zizzi Charity Night

It was a very n-ice result for Ark Cancer Centre Charity as generous fans of the Trane-sponsored Basingstoke Bison turned out in force to support a special evening at a long-standing sponsor of the Herd.

Fans had the pleasure of being waited on by the Herd’s ice hockey stars as the Bison players and Zizzi restaurant staff teamed up for the first of two charity evenings at Zizzi in London Street, Basingstoke.

From November 2-10, Jackie will be taking part in the Dream Challenges Britain V Cancer quest which will see a group of people trek through stunning jungles and traditional Cambodian villages on route to a spectacular finish line at the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat.

They’ve done it – the fabulous FedsOnLegs have completed a hat-trick of Great South Runs in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

In 2016 and 2017, three Basingstoke police officers piled on the miles as they took part in the Simplyhealth Great South Run in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity's £5million appeal – and on Sunday, the team went on the run again at the 2018 event.

The fabulous FedsOnLegs are gearing up for a hat-trick of Great South Runs in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

In 2016 and 2017, three Basingstoke police officers piled on the miles as they took part in the Great South Run in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity's £5million appeal - and now the team are going on the run again in 2018.
