An awesome group of cyclists are celebrating after raising £60,000 for a cancer charity by cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG).

On May 13, the Ark Cyclists set off from the Cornwall landmark and headed north on a nine-day 965-mile ride to the Scottish landmark at the other end of Great Britain.

Some of the riders did particular legs of the journey and seven completed the whole ride – an amazing achievement for all of them, but particularly for team leader 51-year-old Jonathan Hobby, who underwent treatment for lymphoma last year.

A show of musical man power and generosity resulted in a wonderful concert and a fundraising boost for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Basingstoke Hospital Male Voice Choir (BHMVC) and Hart Male Voice Choir joined forces and were on song for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

All Saints’ Church, in Southern Road, Basingstoke, was the venue for the charity concert on the evening of Wednesday, November 15 – and the generous donations from everyone who came along to enjoy the free event resulted in £769 being raised for the good cause.

They are a great tribute band - and now Atomic Rapture are set to perform Blondie classics at a special charity night that will help Ark.

Saturday, January 13, 2018 is the date for the diary as Atomic Rapture perform live at the Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke.

Long-time Bison sponsors Zizzi opened their doors to Bison fans on Wednesday, November 8, for the latest of their popular nights which saw some of the Herd become waiters for the evening.

An award-winning Belgian choir delivered a spectacular performance at a Rotary-organised concert – delighting a packed church and resulting in a £6,000 boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

All Saints Church in Odiham was the splendid setting for the concert by the internationally-renowned Lyricanto Choir on Saturday, November 4.

The special event was organised by The Rotary Club of Odiham and Hook and The Rotary Club of Colfontaine-Borinage in Belgium. Rotarian and accomplished organist Jean-Michel Sapin was one of the key figures in bringing the choir to Odiham.
