RSM team walk the walk for good cause

On Sunday, October 4, Mike Blain, Office Managing Partner, and colleagues Tim Smith and Jo Gibbons were among the Ark100 team that raised funds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity by taking part in the Destination Basingstoke Phillips Half-Marathon.

Mike, Tim and Jo all piled on the miles and pulled in the pounds, and they certainly played their part in a great fundraising effort which saw the 30-strong Ark100 team raise more than £5,400.

And one week later, eight more colleagues from the Basing View-based accountants and business advisors trekked 25.5 miles along the Test Way.

Nick Parker was accompanied by his 12-year-old Jack Russell Molly, and while it certainly was a marathon trek to and from Romsey, Nick, Molly and the rest of the team covered the distance and hit their fundraising target.

The long-distance challenges were the latest in a successful year of events that the RSM team have thrown themselves into in support of the charity, which is raising £5million towards a unique local cancer treatment centre.

Merv Rees, Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee, said: “The RSM team have provided fantastic support to Ark Cancer Centre Charity during 2015, and it’s clear that many of them really have gone more than the extra mile to support this good cause.”
