Public support for cancer treatment centre

Over eight weeks in the spring, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust asked members, staff, patient groups and the public to let them know their views on a broad range of topics about current services and future plans. They have now received the report and we would like to share the summary of the findings.

A range of locations across Hampshire were visited to listen to the public and this was supported by an on-street survey of 806 individuals carried out by a research agency. They also ran an online survey and were pleased to receive 1,583 responses from across their area.

The results show support for their hospitals, the services they provide and the staff who provide them. There was also a positive response to their plans for the future.  Overall, 74% of the public were positive/very positive about the proposal for a critical treatment hospital and 83% overall were positive/very positive about a cancer treatment centre.
