Masonic Lodge Ladies Night boost for Ark

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is grateful for a great show of support from the Elvetham Masonic Lodge.

The Ladies Night of the Elvetham Masonic Lodge raised nearly £6,000 when it was held at the Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke last month.

The black-tie event was to celebrate the end of the year of office for the Worshipful Master of the Basingstoke Lodge, Warren Snook.

With his wife Lisa and sons Oscar and Reuben, Warren was the driving force behind the event which saw 160 people enjoy a three-course dinner and a great evening of entertainment.

A raffle and the auction which followed had some impressive offerings most of which were not possible to buy on the open market. These included a rare 1960s Dimple Haig whisky and three-day paddock entry to any European Grand Prix for two people which included the grid walk prior to the race.

The proceeds of the evening were divided between Ark and Diabetes UK, and a few days ago, Warren and Lisa came in to present a cheque for £2,875 to Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark.

Mark, pictured right, said: "Thank you to Warren, Lisa and everyone at Elvetham Masonic Lodge for this generous show of support. It is much appreciated and is another welcome donation to Ark's £5million fundraising appeal."
