Masonic charity night boost for Ark

When it comes to organising a raffle, Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporter Bev Harfield is in a league of her own.

Bev and her husband Dave were the driving forces behind the Beaconsfield Ladies Festival Charity Night at the Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke – a special event that marked, and celebrated, the end of Dave’s year as Master of the Beaconsfield Masonic Lodge.

The evening provided an opportunity for Dave to talk about what he and his fellow freemasons have achieved over the last year, and it also delivered a fundraising boost for two good causes – Ark Cancer Centre Charity and Combat Stress.

A total of £1,630 was raised for Ark through a mammoth raffle, which featured more than 100 prizes.

Bev, who works at Basingstoke-based audit, tax and business consulting firm RSM, said: “I have been collecting prizes since before Christmas, and thanks to everyone’s generous support, the number just kept going up and up.”

Dave added: “We are grateful to everyone who helped with the organisation of this wonderful evening, and we are delighted that the event was another great example of how the Beaconsfield Masonic Lodge, its brethren, and their families and friends have made a difference to good causes.”

Thanks to Dave and Bev for selecting Ark as one of the charities to benefit from the proceeds raised at this special evening, and thanks to everyone who attended for their kind and generous support.
