Swing and Strings concert update

Unfortunately, A Night of Swing & Strings, starring Clive Fortune Big Band and Basingstoke Area Youth String Orchestra, has been postponed from the planned March 21 date.

Today, the organisers of the event said: “The health and safety of everyone is of paramount importance.

"Following the Government’s updated advice relating to the Coronavirus situation, we have decided to postpone the concert.

Ark supporters raise nearly £90K in a few weeks

Fundraisers and supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity have clocked up an amazing achievement by raising nearly £90,000 in less than two months.

Ark is raising £5million to help fund the new HHFT cancer treatment centre that will be built at Basingstoke hospital, and this summer has seen the following fundraising successes:

Laugh For Ark serves up a comedy feast

Her cooking may be the butt of a few jokes, but when it comes to choosing the ingredients for a successful charity comedy night, Basingstoke mistress of mirth Jan Jack is an absolute master chef.

Laugh For Ark pulled in the pounds and produced laughs galore at the Apollo Hotel last Friday night as more than 150 Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters enjoyed a first-class night featuring five super stand-up acts.

Clarke & Son tee up another fundraising success

The dynamic team at a Basingstoke law firm have been a real driving force when it comes to supporting Ark Cancer Centre Charity – and now they have added to their amazing fundraising tally following a successful charity golf day.

Clarke & Son Solicitors, based in Winchester Road, was one of the first Our Partner corporate supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity in February 2015 – and the legal eagles are now in their fifth year of supporting the charity’s £5million campaign that will help to fund a new NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital.

Arkriders rise to Twin Towns Tour challenge

They've done it! Thirty fabulous Arkriders have cycled 500 miles through five countries in five days – and their fundraising has taken the group’s total past the £250,000 milestone.

The Arkriders have been at the heart of the community campaign to raise £5million for a new NHS cancer treatment centre in Basingstoke – and now the 2019 peleton have piled on the miles, and the pounds, in the latest formidable feat.

And they are off!!!!

It was a fantastic turn out this morning to see the 30 riders who are taking part in the 5 Countries 5 Days cycling to raise funds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

The team will cycle a distance of 453 miles and climb 13,769 ove the net 5 days. 

This fantastic group of cyclists have already raised £42,275 and counting!

We wish them all good luck and hope they have a fantastic time.   Especially our own Mark Jones who is also taking part.  The office will be quiet this week!!    

Treat for music lovers at concert for Ark

Music lovers are in for a treat as talented singers and musicians team up to put on a fundraising concert for a local cancer centre charity.

All Saints Church, in Southern Road, Basingstoke will be the wonderful setting for the Saturday, July 13 concert featuring the Basing Singers, Ooh Mama, and the Heritage Light Orchestra.

This summer concert will be raising funds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s £5million appeal that will help to fund a much-needed NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital.
