Art for Ark's sake is a big draw

TWO Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters teamed up for a great competition that resulted in an artistic treat for a lucky winner and two runners-up as well as a lockdown fundraising boost for the charity.

Laura Haystaff, owner of Ark Our Partner supporter The Topiary Salon, which has premises in Old Basing and Kingsclere Road, Basingstoke, and Basingstoke-based artist Sian Storey  organised the event which saw main winner Harry Coomber become the proud owner of Sian’s lovely painting ‘Kindred’.

We thank you and are thinking of you

Dear Ark supporters

I hope that you and your family and friends are keeping well in these challenging times.

As we approach Christmas, and the end of a year that has been like no other in recent memory, on behalf of all at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, I want to send you seasonal greetings, and to thank you for your ongoing support. I also want to say that we are all thinking of you. We know that this Christmas will be unlike any we have experienced, and that for many people, it will be a particularly difficult and challenging time.

Ark was proud and honoured to be one of Anne's Mayoral Charities during her year in office from May 2015 to May 2016.

Mother-of-two Anne, who represented the Kempshott ward for over 25 years and was an influential figure in many local community organisations, and her husband Richard continued to be great supporters of Ark.

Jon sheds pounds to raise pounds for Ark

IT WAS a truly awesome challenge – shedding four stone in three months and raising £500 for Ark Cancer Centre Charity – but amazing Jon Mills has smashed it!

Jon, managing director of Black and White Accounting, headquartered at Herriard Park, near Basingstoke, beat his daunting weight-loss challenge by one pound – and he has nearly doubled his fundraising goal, clocking up £965 so far.

Father-of-four Jon said: "I had a couple of hiccups along the way, but I'm delighted to have achieved both of my goals.
