Basingstoke Loddon Rotarians deliver £1K boost for Ark

Basingstoke Loddon Rotary Club members are long-standing supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity - and we'd like to say a big thank-you to the Rotarians for their latest generous donation.

The Basingstoke Loddon Rotarians, who have raised funds for Ark through their popular and successful annual May bank holiday duck races on the River Loddon at Barton's Mill, have boosted the Ark appeal by £1,000.

Beaufort Financial team gear up for a Beano - or 5!

The Beaufort Financial team and fellow Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters will be piling on the pedal power as they take part in a static Beano bike challenge.

As part of the build-up to the Beaufort Financial-sponsored Arkriders Bournemouth Beano event on July 14-15 – which is raising money for Ark – members of the team will be clocking up the miles on a static bike from July 9-13.

Rob's ultra-marathon feat Merits a medal

He really did go the extra mile, and then some, for Ark Cancer Centre Charity – and now Rob Spencer can truly be crowned an ultra-marathon king.

Rob, 31, was one of hundreds of participants in the 2018 Race to the King event, which saw entrants run, jog or walk from the breathtaking Slindon Estate in Slindon National Park, through the spectacular South Downs Way, in West Sussex, and finish 53.5 miles later at the statue of King Alfred in the heart of Winchester.

Rotary bookbench gets a new home

It was one of the most popular bookbenches on the Sitting With Jane bookbench trail – and now it has a new home.

Sitting With Jane was one of the most high-profile events in Hampshire in 2017 as the county hosted a series of events and activities to mark the 200th anniversary of the death of world-famous author Jane Austen, who spent the first 25 years of her life in Steventon near Basingstoke.

De La Rue choose Ark as 2018-19 Charity of the Year

Delighted to announce that after a staff vote, the lovely people at De La Rue head office in Basingstoke have chosen Ark Cancer Centre Charity as their charity of the year for 2018-19.

Rob is ready to Race to the King

He's been training for months – and now D-day is less than 48 hours away for Merit Group ultra-marathon man Rob Spencer.

On Saturday, Rob will be taking part in the gruelling Race to the King event as he pulls in the pounds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is Merit Group’s Charity of the Year for 2018.

Elisa and friends get muddy for good causes

Fundraiser Elisa Owen and friends tackled a muddy obstacle course and pulled in the pounds for various good causes, including Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Elisa, who is a practice nurse in Andover, her sister Claire, from Wiltshire, and friend Dee, from Basingstoke, all raised funds for Ark by taking part in this year’s Basingstoke Pretty Muddy 5K event at Down Grange last Saturday.

Ark supporters honoured at A Place to be Proud of Awards

Congratulations to Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters who celebrated well-deserved success and recognition at the 2018 A Place to be Proud of Awards.

Ark Our Partner supporter Champion Group won the Business and the Community award following a public vote, and fellow Ark Our Partner supporter Lamb Brooks was one of the other two finalists in the same category.

The fabulous Arkriders, who have so far raised more than £170,000 for Ark, were also nominated for awards at the 2018 event and were among the finalists in the Community Project category.
