A night of Swing and Strings will entertain and delight music lovers, and raise vital funds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity's mission to help and support cancer patients and their families.

Clive Fortune Big Band and Basingstoke Area Youth String Orchestra (BAYSO) will be combining their talented musical forces to deliver ‘A Night of Swing & Strings’.

Philippa takes up key Lead Cancer Nurse role

Cancer patient care at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) has been given a significant boost by a key appointment.

Philippa Aslet has taken up the role of lead cancer nurse for the trust – and she is on a mission to improve the cancer journey for patients, their families, and staff across the trust, which runs hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover.

The announcement comes on World Cancer Day, and in the year that has been recognised as the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife by the World Health Organisation.

Ark Day is back for 2020!

It was a great community campaign that raised over £32,000 – and now Ark Day is to return with a fresh look for 2020.

New Ark Our Partner will create a big Bang!

It's a new year, and Ark Cancer Centre Charity is delighted to welcome Bang Consulting on board as its first new Our Partner supporter of 2020.

Ark’s Our Partner corporate supporters all adopt the charity, which is raising £5million to fund supportive care and services, complementary therapies, and an enhanced environment within an NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital, as their charity of the year.

Over the past five years, Ark’s fundraising and profile has been significantly increased thanks to its Our Partner organisations.

Bison and Zizzi deliver New Year boost for Ark

It was a very n-ice start to 2020 for Bison fans and Ark Cancer Centre Charity as the Trane Basingstoke Bison and Zizzi Basingstoke teamed up to support the good cause. 

Bison supporters had the pleasure of being waited on by the Herd’s ice hockey stars as the Bison and Zizzi held the second of two charity evenings at Zizzi in London Street, Basingstoke.

EastEnders star James puts Ark in national TV spotlight

EastEnders star James Bye put Ark Cancer Centre Charity in the national spotlight when he supported the good cause on Pointless Celebrities.

Basingstoke-born James, who has played the role of Martin Fowler in the popular BBC1 soap since 2014, chose to support Ark after he and EastEnders co-star Davood Ghadami got through to the final round of the popular BBC1 quiz show.

GP flies flag for Ark on trailblazing ski challenge

It is described as the World’s toughest expedition race – and Hampshire GP Roisin Ward has set her sights on being part of the first British women’s team to conquer it.

Roisin, her sister Jo Bush, and their friend Linda Johnston Rohrbasser are just weeks away from taking part in the Asnes Expedition Amundsen – and as well as blazing a trail, the three women are aiming to raise thousands of pounds for good causes.

The Trane-sponsored Basingstoke Bison and Zizzi restaurant are teaming up for a charity evening that will deliver a New Year boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s £5million fundraising appeal.

Long-time Bison sponsors Zizzi are opening their doors to Bison fans on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 - and some of the Herd players will be swapping ice hockey sticks for serving trays as they wait on the guests.

Wrestler Rob smashes his target for Ark

What a way to celebrate the end of a special year!

Basingstoke professional wrestler Rob Holte has proudly posted the final total of his year of fundraising for Ark Cancer Centre Charity - and it's the awesome sum of £2,716.25.

2019 saw Rob mark his 10th milestone year as a wrestler with a fundraising drive that was a tribute to his late dad and has made a difference to Ark's £5million appeal for the much-needed cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital.
