Library team's donation is no fiction!

We were delighted this week to receive a donation of a total of £116.00 from the Healthcare Library at Basingstoke.

Throughout the past year the library team raised money by asking people to donate money for fiction books which they hold at the library.  This service has been a long term success for the library.  Where the staff are able to donate good condition fiction books and swap for another or donate to take one away. Not only is this a fantastic way of recycling books but a wonderful way in which they can raise money for the charity.

Ark supporter Debbie completes landmark challenge

CHARITY champion Debbie Loveridge is celebrating after completing a six-month virtual trek from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

Since January 1, Debbie, who had a hip replacement in February 2020, has been clocking up the miles in all weathers by walking in the area close to her Basingstoke home.

Debbie’s aim was to complete her target of 874 miles – the distance between the two landmark destinations – by the beginning of July, and on June 26, she reached her goal with a few days to spare. Family and friends clapped her home as she walked the final steps.
