Jewellery fundraiser is a real gem

The daughter of Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees came up with a gem of an idea to support her dad’s fundraising campaign.

Vicky Hannah put on a jewellery fundraiser in Odiham. The jewellery on sale and display was provided by Stella & Dot. Tory Leporiere, from the company, kindly donated money from sales at the event to the charity, and a raffle which offered the chance to win a minimum of £70 worth of jewellery added to the total raised.

Around 40 family and friends attended the event, which raised £621. And the added good news is the final figure will be doubled as it will be donated through the Greenham Common Trust findmeagrant match-funding scheme which is supporting the fundraising appeal.

Vicky said: “I would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the event, and I am delighted that we have been able to make a contribution to the charity and my Dad’s fundraising campaign. This is a fantastic Charity raising money for much-needed new facilities for cancer care that will benefit so many families in and around north Hampshire.”
