Festive Concert

Basingstoke Hospital Male Voice Choir (BHMVC) and members of BATS Next Gen delivered an early Christmas present for Ark Cancer Centre Charity by performing at a special festive concert at All Saints’ Church, in Southern Road, Basingstoke.

The church was packed for the musical treat as the Choir and the young performers from BATS got everyone in the Christmas spirit by singing a selection of seasonal songs. The free concert, at which donations were collected on behalf of the charity, was the latest event to be staged by BHMVC in support of the charity. Under the sparkling leadership of Musical Director Dai Ogborn, the choir turned in another great performance. The appearance of the BATS Next Gen singers added to the seasonal ambiance as they performed their own entertaining festive repertoire. The concert certainly delighted the audience, who generously donated £750 – a sum that will be doubled thanks to match-funding.

BHMVC president and Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees thanked the choir, BATS Next Gen performers, and the generous audience for their support. He said: “BHMVC have shown great support to Ark Cancer Centre Charity during 2015, and it was lovely to round the year off with this special festive concert. I would particularly like to thank Dai Ogborn and BHMVC chairman Andrew Long for their support, and it was lovely to see members of BATS Next Gen performing to help Ark Cancer Centre Charity too.”
