East Woodhay Society continues support

GENEROUS members of the East Woodhay Society have made another telling contribution to Ark Cancer Centre Charity's £5million fundraising appeal.

At the latest AGM, chairman John Angle, pictured right, presented Mark Jones, the charity's director of fundraising and communications, with a cheque for £750.

There was a double dose of good news for the charity as not only will the donation be doubled through the Greenham Common Trust findmeagrant match-funding scheme, but the members also voted to continue supporting Ark Cancer Centre Charity during 2016.

East Woodhay Society members have been great supporters of the charity and cancer treatment centre project since 2013, and Mark thanked them for their past and ongoing support.

Mark updated the members on the progress of the charity's fundraising appeal, and also how the cancer treatment centre project is continuing to move towards its goal of opening at the end of 2018.

Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees, who spoke to members at the end of 2014, said: "We are very grateful for the great support that we continue to receive from East Woodhay Society members.
"Our charity's message is 'for the people, by the people' and local support from organisations like East Woodhay Society are vital to the ongoing progress, and ultimate success of, the fundraising appeal."
