Clarke & Son's magnificent seven gear up for abseil

It will be a real show of girl power as a seven-strong team take on a challenge that will see a Basingstoke law firm’s fundraising go to new heights.

The team at Clarke & Son Solicitors have raised £55,000 for Ark Cancer Centre Charity since 2015, and they are on a mission to add a further £15,000 to that total in 2018-19.

Following hot on the heels of the success of residential conveyancer Marie Pym, who raised more than £1,000 on a sponsored wing walk, six more daring female fundraisers - and a last-minute male substitute - will be abseiling down the Emirates Spinnaker Tower on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Taking on the 100-metre abseil will be a real challenge for Amy Satele, Diane Thompson, Gemma Dixon, Jade Pym, Sian Barton and Charlotte Jelley – but the super six, plus last-minute addition Chris Dine who is deputising for injured team member Jill Scott, are determined to complete the heady challenge.

Darren Lovegrove, marketing manager at Clarke & Son Solicitors, said: “Our team are passionate supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity, and we are delighted to have raised more than £55,000 over the last few years.

“This year’s fundraising campaign is going well, and we hope that the fantastic fundraisers who are taking part in the abseil will get a lot of support as they take on what is literally a very big challenge.”

The Clarke & Son team have really gone the extra mile to support Ark, and the abseil will see members of the team literally take their fundraising to a new height. This will be an awesome achievement for the seven fundraisers, and Ark is grateful to all of them for undertaking this massive feat, and to everyone who sponsors them.

Anyone who wants to sponsor the abseilers can do so through the Clarke & Son page on The Good Exchange fundraising platform at
