Clarke & Son tee up another fundraising success

The dynamic team at a Basingstoke law firm have been a real driving force when it comes to supporting Ark Cancer Centre Charity – and now they have added to their amazing fundraising tally following a successful charity golf day.

Clarke & Son Solicitors, based in Winchester Road, was one of the first Our Partner corporate supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity in February 2015 – and the legal eagles are now in their fifth year of supporting the charity’s £5million campaign that will help to fund a new NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital.

The Clarke & Son team have so far racked up more than £65,000 of support for Ark – and the 2019-20 coffers have now been boosted by a charity golf day held at Dummer Golf Club.

Sixty golfers from a wide range of businesses took part in the event, and the proceeds from entry fees and a raffle added up to a £2,500 winning result for the charity.

Various awards were handed out at the charity golf day, and the overall team prize went to four players from the Beaufort Financial (Reading) team – Andy Coles, Neil Clarke. Stewart Hounslow and Lawrence Fannon.

Darren Lovegrove, marketing manager at Clarke & Son, said: “We are delighted to have organised another successful charity golf day for Ark, and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to take part and support the event.

“This year, the Clarke & Son team have been heavily involved in supporting the successful Ark Day campaign, and we regularly hold events in our offices that keep the fundraising clock ticking over.

“We have plans for other fundraising events over the coming months, and are delighted that our support continues to make a big difference to Ark’s £5m campaign.”

Merv Rees from the Ark Cancer Charity said: "The support from the Clarke & Son team has been absolutely awesome, and their annual charity golf day has become a key fixture and highlight of the charity’s fundraising calendar.

"Everyone at Ark is proud and honoured that the Clarke & Son team have chosen to support the charity for five consecutive years. This significant show of support has made a massive difference in terms of raising funds, and also awareness.”
