Cancer Services Partnership

Cancer Services Partnership is an unregistered small charity run by and for people affected by cancer, working across the whole of the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, covering Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.

We bring together patients, their families and carers to enable their views and experiences to be heard and used to improve cancer care, with our key HHFT and hospital partners, representatives of relevant charities and support groups.

Our core membership is made up of local volunteer cancer patients, their families and carers, who are all past and present users of HHFT cancer services, making it a strong and active group. Our aim is to contribute towards the realistic maintenance of and improvements to the cancer services in our area, based on the realities of today, whilst progressing with our NHS partners and other associates, towards an even better cancer service for the future.

In our two-hour Bi-Monthly meetings, we exchange news and updates on improvements, changes, and issues in the north and central Hampshire area that may affect HHFT cancer patients, their families and carers’ experience. Any concerns are discussed and if we feel they need to be highlighted, we will feed them back to the relevant organisations, hospitals, charities and support groups.

We have the use of meeting rooms within the HHFT hospitals and in The Ark Conference Centre on the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital site, and there will be times when travelling to our venues may be a challenge. To support increased accessibility, we aim to offer where possible, virtual attendance to our meetings. We may also host occasional meetings at the other HHFT sites in Andover and Winchester or the surrounding areas.

Where appropriate, we agree on action plans which may be delegated to smaller CSP Working Groups, including representatives from HHFT where appropriate, to review, discuss and feedback. We may also initiate or support projects pro-actively on a national or bespoke local basis to improve the overall patients, families and carers’ experience. Networking Forums are hosted by us each year, bringing together the local cancer support network providers to share experiences and learnings with the intention of continuous improvement and development.
