Bison and Zizzi deliver New Year boost for Ark

It was a very n-ice start to 2020 for Bison fans and Ark Cancer Centre Charity as the Trane Basingstoke Bison and Zizzi Basingstoke teamed up to support the good cause.

Bison supporters had the pleasure of being waited on by the Herd’s ice hockey stars as the Bison and Zizzi held the second of two charity evenings at Zizzi in London Street, Basingstoke.

An array of items, including a signed ice hockey stick, signed Bison shirt, and Zizzi vouchers, were among the prizes in a well-supported raffle, and some of the Bison players sold plenty of tickets for the big draw. The generous support of everyone meant that a record £618.25 was raised on the night.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “Ark Cancer Centre Charity is proud to be a community partner of the Bison, and we are grateful for the wonderful support that Ark has received from the Bison players, management and supporters, and the team at Zizzi in Basingstoke.

“This was the latest of several charity nights that have been held for Ark by the Bison and Zizzi, and thank you to everyone who came along. Their kind and generous support meant a record amount was raised. Particular thanks go to Bison Booster Club volunteers Carol and Gary Blakemore who played key roles in organising the raffle."

John Neville, on behalf of the Trane Basingstoke Bison, said: “As an organisation, we are very proud to hold these charity evenings with our friends from Zizzi and Ark.

“Everyone at the Bison enjoys these evenings where the fans get to see the players in a different and fun environment, raising much-needed funds for a local cause, and this latest evening was very well-supported."
