De La Rue choose Ark as 2018-19 Charity of the Year

Delighted to announce that after a staff vote, the lovely people at De La Rue head office in Basingstoke have chosen Ark Cancer Centre Charity as their charity of the year for 2018-19.

Mark Jones, Ark's director of fundraising and communications, looks forward to meeting members of the De La Rue team at the company's first fundraising event of the year on July 5.

Rob is ready to Race to the King

He's been training for months – and now D-day is less than 48 hours away for Merit Group ultra-marathon man Rob Spencer.

On Saturday, Rob will be taking part in the gruelling Race to the King event as he pulls in the pounds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is Merit Group’s Charity of the Year for 2018.

Ark supporters honoured at A Place to be Proud of Awards

Congratulations to Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters who celebrated well-deserved success and recognition at the 2018 A Place to be Proud of Awards.

Ark Our Partner supporter Champion Group won the Business and the Community award following a public vote, and fellow Ark Our Partner supporter Lamb Brooks was one of the other two finalists in the same category.

The fabulous Arkriders, who have so far raised more than £170,000 for Ark, were also nominated for awards at the 2018 event and were among the finalists in the Community Project category.

Unum team get into gear for car wash fundraiser

Sponges, buckets and cloths were the order of the day as the team at Ark Cancer Centre Charity Our Partner supporter Unum got stuck into a sponsored car wash.

Over the next two years, colleagues at Unum Basingstoke are taking part in various events and activities that will help to raise funds for, and awareness of, Ark and its appeal to raise £5million for a much-needed unique local cancer treatment centre that will be built in the Basingstoke area – and the car wash is the latest event.

Rotary award for Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee

Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees has been honoured with a prestigious Rotary award.

Merv was one of two recipients of a Paul Harris Award - named after the founder of Rotary International - at the annual Basingstoke Deane Rotary Club Charities Night.

Fun and fundraising at Charity Day

Locks were lost but pounds were added as staff at two of Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s Our Partner corporate supporters held a special fundraising day.

Staff at sister companies Easy as HGV Ltd and HGV Driver Training Centre Ltd are supporting Ark as one of their Charities of the Year for 2018, and they held a special Charity Day to boost the coffers.

A dress-up or dress-down opportunity and a bake-off competition helped to raise money and employee Nick Lake went the extra mile by losing his hair in a sponsored head shave.

Champion Charity Golf Day tees up fundraising boost for Ark

The Champion Group inaugural Charity Golf Day teed up a great fundraising boost for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Eighteen teams took part in the event at Dummer Golf Club, and the generous support of the players as well as auction sponsors produced a winning result for Ark as £4,695.85 was raised on the day.

Beaufort team take fundraising to a new height

Fabulous fundraisers from Beaufort Financial really rose to the challenge of completing a daring abseil challenge in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Members of the Beaufort team, as well as some of their clients and business associates, took Ark’s fundraising to a new height when they abseiled 100 metres down the iconic Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on Sunday.

Great show of support from Phillips Solicitors

They have been great Our Partner supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity - and the Phillips Solicitors team were delighted to hand over a cheque for £7,098 after another successful year of fundraising.

The giant cheque represented the end result of various fundraising activities for Ark, which was Phillips' Charity of the Year for 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Ark supporters take fundraising to a new height

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again – and that’s exactly what 18 fabulous Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters did as they came, saw and conquered an abseiling challenge at a Hampshire landmark.

High winds on April 7 meant a team of intrepid fundraisers had to reschedule their attempt to abseil down the Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth – so on Sunday, May 13, the determined team returned and completed the feat in style.
