Magnificent seven rise to abseil challenge

They've done it - a magnificent seven-strong team from Clarke & Son Solicitors have completed an awesome abseil challenge in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity. 

The dynamic staff from the firm of legal eagles, based in Winchester Road, Basingstoke, have raised £55,000 for Ark Cancer Centre Charity since 2015, and they are on a mission to add a further £15,000 to that total in 2018-19.

Cricket match is a big hit for Ark

An annual cricket match between two village pub teams was a closely-fought contest – and it produced a great result for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Spectators turned out in force to support their sides as a team from The Plough Inn, in Little London, took on opponents from The Calleva Arms, in Silchester.

The cricket match is a popular event, and this year Ark – which is raising £5million towards a much-needed NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital – was the charity of choice to benefit from proceeds raised on the day.

It will be a real show of girl power as a seven-strong team take on a challenge that will see a Basingstoke law firm’s fundraising go to new heights.

The team at Clarke & Son Solicitors have raised £55,000 for Ark Cancer Centre Charity since 2015, and they are on a mission to add a further £15,000 to that total in 2018-19.

Annual cricket match will help Ark

Thanks to the lovely people at The Plough Inn, Little London, and The Calleva Arms, Silchester, for choosing Ark Cancer Centre Charity as their good cause to support through their annual cricket challenge.

Teams from the two pubs will take to the field for this year's charity match on Sunday, August 19.

There will be a barbecue, and each pub is donating a barrel of beer for this fun event, which will take place in at The Calleva Arms ground.

The match will get underway at 2.30pm, and all proceeds raised on the day will go to Ark.

Rain stops play at charity cricket match and fun day

Sadly, rain has caused the cancellation of today's planned family fun day and sponsored cricket match to support Ark and another local cancer charity.

Teams from Champion Group and Absolutely Offices were due to take part in the sponsors match on Sunday, August 12.

Legal eagle Marie flies high on wing walk

SHE'S done it! Legal eagle Marie Pym defied her fear of heights to soar into a sky on a wing walk that has raised more than £1,000 for Ark Cancer Centre Charity and was a great tribute to her late brother.

Family and friends gathered at Chiltern Park Aerodrome, in Ipsden, Oxfordshire, to watch marvellous Marie achieve the awesome feat of soaring into the sky on top of a bi-plane - and there were cheers and applause as she completed the daring challenge.

Rotary picnic event delivers boost for Ark

Thanks to the fabulous members of The Rotary Club of Odiham and Hook for delivering another fundraising boost to Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

The Picnic in the Paddock event took place at Swan Paddock behind Albion Yard, in Hook Road, North Warnborough, on Saturday, July 21, and the well-supported evening saw those attending enjoy a feast of music as well as their food and drink.

Organised by The Rotary Club of Odiham and Hook, the event raised £2,400 which was divided between Ark Cancer Centre Charity and St Michael’s Hospice.

Brave Marie reaches for the sky - again!

A brave legal eagle is set to soar into the sky as she confronts her fear of heights for a fundraising challenge in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity and in memory of her brother.

Marie Pym, a residential conveyancer at Clarke & Son Solicitors, will be taking on a wing walk challenge in support of Ark and its campaign to raise £5million towards a new NHS cancer treatment centre that will be built in Basingstoke.

Masonic Lodge Ladies Night boost for Ark

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is grateful for a great show of support from the Elvetham Masonic Lodge.

The Ladies Night of the Elvetham Masonic Lodge raised nearly £6,000 when it was held at the Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke last month.

The black-tie event was to celebrate the end of the year of office for the Worshipful Master of the Basingstoke Lodge, Warren Snook.

With his wife Lisa and sons Oscar and Reuben, Warren was the driving force behind the event which saw 160 people enjoy a three-course dinner and a great evening of entertainment.
