Lights, camera, action - Ark supporters have a busy weekend ahead

It's a busy weekend ahead for Ark Cancer Centre Charity and its supporters.

On Saturday, a team from wonderful Ark Our Partner supporter Clarke & Son Solicitors will be piling on the miles and pulling in the pounds on a 25km River Thames bridges walk in London.

The fabulous fundraisers from the firm of legal eagles, in Winchester Road, Basingstoke, have raised over £60,000 for Ark since 2015 and they are on course to add a further £15,000 in 2018-19.

Saturday also sees the grand finale of the Exit 6 2018 Film Festival, for which Ark is the chosen charity.

Rotary District Governor visits Ark

The big difference that local Rotarians have made to Ark Cancer Centre Charity and the NHS cancer treatment centre project was celebrated during a VIP visit today.

Ark was delighted to welcome Rotary District 1110 Governor Allan Smith, Assistant Governor Linda Lawson, from Basingstoke Loddon Rotary, and Basingstoke Deane Rotarians Lindy Richardson, Alan Gibson and Jim Lawson.

Une Grande Nuit is a grand success

Magnifique! – a fabulous French-themed evening celebrated the awesome achievements of a terrific team of cycling fundraisers and saw them smash the £200,000 barrier in support of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Une Grande Nuit was organised by the Arkriders, in partnership with the Apollo Hotel, in Basingstoke, to mark the success of three years of fundraising by the bike-riding supporters, and to pull in more money for the charity, which is raising £5million towards a new NHS cancer treatment centre in Basingstoke.

Jane's recipe for success will help Ark

It's a big week for BBC MasterChef 2016 champion Jane Devonshire who is a long-standing supporter of Ark Cancer Centre Charity and the NHS cancer treatment centre project.

Today sees the launch of Jane's first book. Hassle Free, Gluten Free: Over 100 delicious, gluten-free family recipes is published in association with Coeliac UK, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. 

Sian's art for Ark's sake is set be an auction winner

She made her mark in Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s major fundraising event of 2017 – and talented artist Sian Storey is making a big contribution to this year’s showcase event.

Basingstoke-based artist Sian has very generously created a work of art for Une Grande Nuit – and this will be one of the prizes that will be auctioned at the September 22 event.

Darren will pile on the miles for Ark

He's a man on a mission – and Royal Mail worker Darren Barham has a very personal reason for wanting to deliver a positive fundraising result for Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Father-of-four Darren, who is a Royal Mail delivery officer, is training hard for the Basingstoke Half-Marathon on Sunday, October 7, and he is looking forward to raising as much money as he can to support the charity which is helping to fund a new NHS cancer treatment centre in Basingstoke.

Festival Of Choirs on song for Ark

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is honoured to be the chosen charity for the 2018 Basingstoke Festival Of Choirs concert.

This popular annual evening of marvellous musical entertainment is taking place on Sunday, September 30 at The Anvil, and Ark will be the beneficiary of the charity collection.

Starring hundreds of enthusiastic, local singers, the Festival Of Choirs ‘Voices Together’ concert will feature a programme of memorable music to suit all tastes and ages.

MasterChef winner Jane serves up support for Ark

BBC MasterChef 2016 champion Jane Devonshire is a great supporter of Ark Cancer Centre Charity – and today she completes the line-up of Ark video stars in our new campaign.

Mother-of-four Jane has twice battled cancer – something she did not reveal until after her MasterChef journey was over. She was treated for liver cancer by world-renowned surgeon Merv Rees, who is a trustee of Ark Cancer Centre Charity and a driving force behind the NHS cancer treatment centre project that the charity is helping to fund.

Ark wonder woman Anna gets her message across

She's cycled hundreds of miles, run half-marathons, and abseiled 100 metres down a Hampshire landmark - so there's no doubt that Anna O'Shea is an Ark wonder woman.
