Welcome to the Ark Cancer Centre Charity website
We need your help.
Please help us to create a cancer treatment centre of unique excellence.
A much-needed cancer treatment centre is to be built by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in north Hampshire, integrating conventional and supportive cancer care for local people. Everything will be provided under one roof in an uplifting environment that will enhance the care and support that is given.
Ark Cancer Centre Charity is raising £5million towards the cancer treatment centre. This exciting project is a major opportunity for everyone involved to create a centre of excellence that will benefit so many people in the locality.
So please join us today, and together we can provide the care and support that local cancer patients, their family and friends need and deserve.
THEY are the FedsOnLegs – and on Sunday, October 23, they will be going more than the extra mile to boost Ark Cancer Centre Charity's £5million appeal.
The super nine-strong Basingstoke police team will be taking part in the 2016 Great South Run – and now they are hoping for more public support as they strive to achieve their £1,000 fundraising target. The team who will be pulling on their running shoes are Basingstoke District Commander Chief Inspector Matthew Reeves, Basingstoke Rural District Inspector Paul Pressley, Sergeant Trevor Taylor, Pcs Dan Carter, Jayson Richards and Aiden Blackwell, and PCSOs James Headen, Dan Tompkins and Ruth McCullen.
Trevor said: "Most of us have never taken part in any kind of running event before so this will also be a personal challenge."
Starting and finishing on Clarence Esplanade in Southsea, the fast and flat course takes the runners through Old Portsmouth, before entering the Historic Dockyard. The course is steeped in history – some of it dating back to 1212 – and features charity cheering points, bands on the run and great support from local residents and spectators.
Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: "The charity is grateful to the FedsOnLegs team for putting in the time and effort to train for, and take part in, the 2016 Great South Run. "We hope that they will get plenty of support as they seek to reach their fundraising goal. Their fundraising feat, and the support of all who sponsor them, is much appreciated."
